American Flag Leeks
American Flag Leeks
Maturity Date: 130 days
American Flag Leeks have a mild, sweet onion flavor; their stems grow 8-10 inches long by 1.5 inches in diameter. The bottom part is blond to snowy white and the bottom part has green tops. A cold tolerant leek, these are a great candidate for over winter! Also great for starting in raised beds then transplanting. Be careful when watering; you don't want to under water when close to harvest. You will want the greens in bright green bunches at your farmers market table or in your CSA boxes. And, of course, you will definitely want these Heirloom, Non-GMO leeks on your family table! Happy growing!!!
Here's a tip. We do this for our own markets
Leeks can easily be transplanted start by over seeding in a raised bed. Or in trays. They will take 40 to 60 days for transplants
